Tax Manager, Accounting Manager
Our client has an opening for a Tax Manager at their Dallas office. The role involves working with Partners and Managers to lead, mentor, and coach team members across tax compliance and consulting engagements, helping clients minimize tax liabilities. The Tax Manager manages engagements and client communications while fostering a collaborative environment that delivers value to clients.
Responsibilities- Exhibits a high level understanding of technical requirements, procedures, and principles.
- Demonstrates knowledge of specialized industry and/or regulatory requirements.
- Manages and monitors the preparation and review of complex S Corporation, C Corporation, partnership, multistate, and individual tax returns, including projections and estimate calculations.
- Reviews and advises on technical research memoranda.
- Researches and reviews work papers for various book-to-tax differences.
- Applies relevant tax law to specific client circumstances.
- Identifies areas of specialization and continuously refines skills, knowledge, and expertise.
- Collaborates with others to provide quality service to clients.
- Engages in professional and efficient communication with clients.
- Leads client meetings.
- Promotes additional services to clients when appropriate.
- Develops intimate knowledge of clients and their business activities.
- Communicates with the IRS and other state authorities in a professional manner when applicable.
- Effectively delegates responsibilities, providing proper instructions, monitoring, and coaching.
- Conducts training for associates.
- Manages projects by scheduling associates, tracking completion, and managing the budget.
- Maintains open communication with the team regarding project progress.
- Participates actively in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and facilitator.
- Manages all aspects of billing, including client inquiries.
- Develops appropriate fee quotes for new tax engagements.
- Networks to promote business and bring in new clients.
- Accounting undergraduate degree required;
Master’s preferred. - CPA required.
- 5+ years of tax experience required.
- Advanced knowledge of Federal and income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Strong project management and delegation skills.
