MUST BE LOCATED IN THE DFW AREA OVERVIEWResponsible for overseeing accounting and financial operations, including reporting, budgeting and forecasting, risk management, and team management.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepares financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to top management.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits, providing information to external auditors.
- Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions.
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains financial staff by recruiting, electing, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Manages state sales tax audits. Coordinates monthly filings, research sales tax issues, and ensures entry of accurate monthly journal entries.
- Performs filings for various state licenses and annual reports.
- Credit card administrator for merchant services.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplish in related results as needed.
- Acts as a role model for other employees.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business.
- 3-5 or more years of related manufacturing Controller experience.
- 2+ years of managerial experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the overall Accounting departmental functions.
- Solid oral and written business communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent organizational and work prioritization skills
- Desire for growth and advancement
- Good oral and written business communication skills.
Up to 10% travel may be required.
