Finance Manager
The Finance Manager is a leading performer responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing financial programs and initiatives within an organization. This position involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams, ensuring program alignment with business goals, and driving successful financial outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities- Evaluate the effectiveness of operational processes, procedures, and controls to maximize departmental productivity and attainment of operational goals.
- Participate in and may manage large, cross‑functional projects or initiatives with strategic importance.
- Perform high‑level critical thinking, detailed information gathering, and application of business knowledge.
- Generate fresh perspectives, breakthrough ideas, and new approaches that create value in the market.
- Proactively investigate and/or lead investigations of alternative approaches, technologies, or partnerships.
- Determine profitability of products, markets, channels, source of supply and SKUs through detailed financial analysis.
- Analyze and report on sales trends, opportunities, and weaknesses.
- Develop, communicate, maintain, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to SOX controls.
- Oversee timely reporting of annual and multi‑year trends and projections for revenues, expenditures, and fund balances.
- Identify critical factors affecting profitability and recommend proactive planning as well as responses to external market and economic changes that may impact the business.
- Collaborate with diverse management groups, peers, and project teams to identify and resolve operational and tactical issues and support business and culture change that accompanies growth.
- Monitor account activity to determine required expense reclasses and determine proper classification.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for senior business unit management and senior financial management.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
- 6‑8 years of job‑related experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.
- Recognized cross‑functionally as an expert within one or two subject matter areas.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
- Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.
- High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
- Proficient in SAP.
- Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) and Sarbanes‑Oxley.
- Temporary indirect reporting relationships may exist while working as project lead. May be required to act in senior role, providing task‑related advice and direction to junior team members.
