Position: Tax Manager/Tax Director - Dallas - On-Site (150k-200k + Bonus)

LHH is seeking a Tax Manager to join a highly regarded alternative investment firm headquartered in Dallas. This role offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative tax team supporting investment funds, management entities, and senior leadership. The ideal candidate will bring strong tax compliance and consulting experience within the investment management or financial services industry, along with a background in public accounting and the ability to manage complex tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Big4 tax experience w/ asset management clients (PE or Hedge Fund)
  • CPA w/ strong scores and 3.5+ GPA
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide tax consulting related to investment activities, including analysis of dividend, interest, and capital gains tax implications across U.S. and international jurisdictions
  • Support tax planning and consulting for partners and management entities, including federal, state, and international considerations
  • Coordinate with fund accounting, investor accounting, and financial reporting teams to gather data required for tax filings
  • Prepare and review U.S. and international tax returns for investment funds, management companies, and partners
  • Manage Form 1099 and Form 1042 reporting requirements
  • Process and track tax depreciation for management entities
  • Monitor ASC 740 tax exposures and assist with preparation of annual reports for auditors
  • Partner with internal teams to enhance tax processes, systems, and documentation
  • Maintain communication with external tax advisors to stay current on regulatory and compliance changes
  • Participate in special projects, data analysis initiatives, and policy development
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with strong academic performance
  • CPA required
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience, including prior experience with a Big Four public accounting firm
  • Experience with investment management, hedge funds, or alternative investments preferred
