A growing fund administrator is seeking a Fund Accounting Manager to join its expanding private equity team. This individual will oversee day-to-day fund accounting operations for a portfolio of private equity clients and serve as a key point of contact for both internal teams and external stakeholders. The role offers strong exposure to fund operations, client interaction, process improvement initiatives, and team leadership within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for multiple private equity funds and related entities
- Review capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest allocations, and investor allocations
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Oversee NAV calculations and partner capital account reporting
- Coordinate with auditors, tax providers, custodians, and client service teams during audits and year-end reporting cycles
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and provide timely responses to investor and client inquiries
- Review work prepared by fund accountants and senior fund accountants, providing mentorship and technical guidance
- Assist with onboarding new clients, fund launches, and operational transitions
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced controls
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and reporting deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of fund accounting experience within private equity, hedge funds, real estate funds, or fund administration
- Prior experience managing or reviewing staff preferred
- Strong understanding of private equity structures, waterfall calculations, and investor reporting
- Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements under U.S. GAAP
- Proficiency with Excel and fund accounting systems such as Investran, Geneva, Allvue, or similar platforms
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple client relationships
- Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
