LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a healthcare organization in Dallas, TX to hire a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant supports the Finance Department by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with budgeting, audits, grant reporting, and monthly close activities. This role works closely with leadership to ensure financial information is prepared in accordance with GAAP, organizational policies, and applicable governmental standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and supporting schedules
- Assist with month-end close, annual budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Prepare and maintain Schedule of State Expenditures and Schedule of Federal Expenditures schedules along with audit support documentation for annual and single audits
- Support site audits and desk audits, including gathering documentation and preparing responses for review
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, and grant-related financial activity
- Prepare journal entries, bank deposits, and cash management reporting while monitoring funding sources and expenditures
- Complete financial reporting for federal, state, and local grants and contracts, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, reconciling items, and posting errors in compliance with GAAP and GASB standards
- Maintain organized accounting records, reports, and supporting documentation
- Participate in special projects and provide additional support to finance and operational leadership as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited university required
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, budgeting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities are required
- Experience with nonprofit, governmental, grant or healthcare accounting preferred
- CPA license or CPA candidate preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; advanced Excel skills strongly preferred
- Experience with mid-market accounting systems;
Blackbaud experience is a plus - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the flexibility to adapt in a changing environment
- Salary $85,000-$115,000 depending on experience
- Educational assistance, Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, LTD, STD, Sick Days, Hybrid scheduled (3 days onsite/ 2 from home), 9-5 daily schedule
