We are seeking a relationship-driven and strategic Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer to join our growing banking team. This individual will be responsible for developing and managing a commercial loan portfolio, cultivating new business relationships, and delivering customized lending solutions to commercial clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong credit analysis skills, commercial real estate lending experience, and the ability to build long-term partnerships within the market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow commercial lending and deposit relationships through business development, networking, referrals, and community involvement.
  • Proactively identify and pursue commercial real estate and business lending opportunities.
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow statements, and other financial information to assess creditworthiness and structure loan opportunities.
  • Prepare and present detailed credit memorandums and loan recommendations for approval.
  • Exercise lending authority within approved limits, including loans, lines of credit, letters of credit, and overdraft approvals.
  • Monitor and manage existing loan relationships to ensure compliance with loan covenants and ongoing reporting requirements.
  • Conduct client visits and maintain strong relationships with business owners, CPAs, attorneys, brokers, and other referral partners.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify emerging credit trends and portfolio risks.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior credit and lending staff.
  • Collaborate across departments including Operations, Finance, Compliance, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to support overall bank growth and client service initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic discussions regarding credit quality, market trends, and lending initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or commercial real estate lending.
  • Strong understanding of commercial underwriting practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to develop business and build lasting client relationships.
  • Experience analyzing complex financial statements and structuring commercial credit facilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of market trends, competitor pricing, and economic conditions impacting commercial banking.
  • Experience working with middle-market and privately held businesses.
  • Strong portfolio management and risk assessment capabilities.
