Vice President, Private Equity Fund Accounting

As part of their expanding Private Assets division, they are seeking an experienced Vice President, Private Equity Fund Accounting to lead high-performing teams, oversee complex fund structures, and play a key role in shaping the future of their private equity operations.

What You'll Be Doing Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers and fund accounting professionals
  • Drive performance, engagement, and professional development across the team
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and talent development initiatives
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration
  • Oversee the preparation and review of Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations for private equity funds
  • Review financial statements, trial balances, investor allocations, and capital activity
  • Ensure accurate calculation and review of management fees, carried interest, administration fees, and other fund expenses
  • Review investor reporting and other key client deliverables
Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients and maintain strong long‑term relationships
  • Provide technical accounting expertise and industry insights to clients
  • Ensure timely resolution of client inquiries and delivery of exceptional service
  • Partner closely with relationship management and client integration teams
Operational Excellence & Strategic Initiatives
  • Drive operational efficiency and process improvement initiatives
  • Oversee audit coordination and relationships with external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, partnership agreements, and internal policies
  • Support technology enhancements, automation projects, and business transformation initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Investor Relations, Tax, Financial Reporting, and Waterfall teams
What They’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation preferred
  • 8+ years of private equity fund accounting experience
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a fund administration, asset management, or financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of private equity fund structures, waterfall calculations, allocations, and investor reporting
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation
  • Experience managing audits and complex client relationships
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Investran or similar private equity accounting platforms is highly desirable
