East West Bank is seeking a Portfolio Team Manager for the Healthcare Finance specialty lending group responsible for underwriting, credit monitoring and portfolio management. Primary responsibilities include analyzing financial data to determine the merits of loan requests, recommending structure, and identifying cross‑selling/referring opportunities of other services.
Responsibilities- Underwrite, manage and structure commercial lines of credit, real estate, and cash flow leverage transactions according to the Bank's established guidelines and policies
- Have in‑depth working knowledge of ABL revolvers, including evaluation of borrowing bases, field exams, and collateral monitoring
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of credit and covenant compliance
- Analyze and create financial loan memorandums to generate new loans and modifications
- Manage the renewal process by working with clients and the credit department, including increases, amendments, and waivers
- Serve as the point of contact for the client, acting as a liaison to the credit department, commercial support staff, and other internal business partners
- Ensure compliance with EWB regulatory and credit requirements
- Maintain credit risk control and quality of the portfolio
- Develop problem‑loan credit solutions
- Ensure portfolio administration and risk management of each client follows established EWB credit policy, procedures, and business strategy
- Determine the merits of specific loan requests and recommend structure while aggressively managing the client relationship
- Assist with due diligence and analysis for new client relationships and opportunity memos as appropriate
- Assist in the development of junior bankers, credit analysts, and relationship associates
- Make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank's loan approval process, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits
- Perform other administrative duties required for maintaining a portfolio of clients
- May perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree or combination of education and directly related experience; MBA desired
- 15+ years of commercial banking and direct portfolio management and/or 10+ years underwriting experience in healthcare
- Strong underwriting and projection skills
- Deep understanding of credit policy and procedures; able to accurately risk‑rate loans and credits, evaluating both cash‑flow and collateral‑based loans
- Develop problem‑loan credit solutions
- Strong knowledge base in Treasury, FX and Derivative products and ability to coordinate bank resources for full‑service solutions
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- May mentor and manage other staff on the team

CompensationThe base pay range for this position is USD $ per year to USD $ per year. Exact offers will be determined based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
