Job DetailsAs we prepare for an IPO and ongoing public‑company compliance, we are seeking a leader to oversee external reporting and technical accounting efforts while partnering cross‑functionally on broader accounting, operational, and strategic finance initiatives. The role is not siloed, requiring a well‑rounded accounting leader with experience navigating complex transactions, scaling processes, supporting IPO readiness, and driving accounting excellence across the organization.
Responsibilities- SEC Reporting & Financial Statements:
Lead preparation and filing of SEC reports (10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K, S‑1, Proxy) in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC rules; oversee consolidated financial statements, including cash flow, equity, and footnote disclosures; manage reporting timelines, disclosure controls, tie‑outs, and filing processes; manage XBRL tagging, validation, and filing; serve as primary liaison with external auditors on reporting‑related matters - Technical Accounting & Compliance:
Research and document technical accounting matters (revenue recognition, equity, stock compensation, business combinations, leases, and other complex transactions); evaluate and implement new accounting standards and SEC guidance; prepare technical accounting memos and support audit reviews; assist with SEC comment letter responses and regulatory matters - IPO & Public Company Readiness:
Support IPO readiness, including registration statements and SEC filings; partner with leadership on finance transformation and process improvement initiatives; help build scalable accounting policies, reporting procedures, and close processes; assist in developing reporting calendars, internal controls, and public‑company best practices - Cross‑Functional Support & Analysis:
Partner with FP&A and Investor Relations on MD&A and variance analysis; provide financial analysis and reporting insights to leadership; drive process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies across the finance function; support broader financial reporting initiatives - Systems & Workiva:
Lead Workiva setup, administration, and reporting processes; improve automation, standardization, and reporting efficiency; serve as liaison between Finance, IT, and external advisors - Audit & External Reporting:
Act as primary contact for external auditors on SEC reporting; provide schedules, memos, and supporting documentation; support quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Experience supporting or leading IPO transactions
- 5+ years of experience in SEC reporting, preferably in a pre‑IPO environment
- Prior audit committee or executive‑level presentation experience
- Experience with Workiva or similar reporting software
