Senior Mortgage Consultant
Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association ("MSPBNA"), a division within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, seeks to hire a Senior Mortgage Consultant to support the Morgan Stanley Home Loans team. The role focuses on the entire mortgage origination cycle, delivering an excellent client experience to Financial Advisors and wealth management clients.
Location: Dallas, TX or Tempe, AZ. The position can be based in either office.
Job Description / Position Responsibilities- Build strong relationships with Financial Advisors and Personal Bankers to provide expert mortgage advice and problem-solving support.
- Serve as part of a team focused on complex/branch-level coverage and grow market share through business referrals.
- Drive best rate execution and appropriate product selection for clients.
- Own the end-to-end client experience, including follow‑up on referrals, completing high‑quality, accurate, compliant mortgage applications, and loan registration.
- Partner with Private Bankers (Field Sales) to achieve complex/branch growth targets.
- Maintain and follow up on a pipeline of client referrals.
- Analyze financial information to assess qualification and recommend optimal lending solutions.
- Participate in business partner events and office activities to promote the Home Loan team.
- Coordinate with Mortgage Specialist Team to ensure timely transfer of loan applications after intent to proceed.
- Manage inbound/outbound queue, multiple call campaigns, and bank initiatives with intensive client follow‑up.
- Apply knowledge of consumer lending laws and regulations (fair lending, privacy, RESPA, TRID).
- Collect necessary documents for underwriting approval and negotiate product/pricing as needed.
- Provide feedback on client‑experience enhancements and process efficiencies.
- 4-8 years of private wealth experience (sales and/or operations preferred).
- Client‑relationship‑management experience.
- Track record of developing and maintaining client relationships in a sales or operational context.
- Success in meeting individual and organizational production goals while managing a large client base.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligible for employment with an FDIC‑insured institution and able to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry ("NMLS") as a mortgage loan originator.
- Extensive knowledge of mortgage products and client service.
- In‑depth knowledge of compliance regulations governing consumer mortgage lending.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self‑starter with ownership mindset; able to manage time, prioritize, and plan.
- Proficiency in systems for accurate reporting and tracking (MS Office).
- Achieve high levels of client and Financial Advisor satisfaction.
- Proactively manage loan escalations to ensure timely resolution and enhanced client experience.
- Effectively manage a pipeline that includes Client and/or Employee Loan Transactions.
