A well-established community bank with a strong commitment to relationship banking, sound credit practices, and exceptional client service is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join its commercial banking team in Uptown Dallas. The organization has built a reputation for disciplined underwriting, responsive decision-making, and long-standing partnerships with businesses across its markets.
The Senior Credit Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and monitoring the financial condition and creditworthiness of commercial borrowers by evaluating historical financial performance, cash flow projections, and overall credit risk. This individual will work closely with Commercial Loan Officers and Credit Administration to support sound lending decisions while maintaining a high-quality commercial loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow projections, and other relevant financial information for new, renewal, and existing commercial loan relationships
- Prepare detailed credit memorandums, financial spreads, risk assessments, and loan recommendations within established deadlines
- Evaluate borrower creditworthiness and recommend appropriate loan structures in accordance with the bank's credit policy
- Review credit bureau reports, information from financial institutions, and internal loan files to support underwriting decisions
- Monitor existing loan relationships by maintaining current financial information, tracking portfolio performance, and identifying potential credit concerns
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date loan files, including financial statements, borrowing base reports, accounts receivable, and supporting documentation
- Provide technical guidance and support to Commercial Loan Officers throughout the underwriting process
- Perform commercial credit inquiries and assist with annual credit reviews and loan renewals
- Effectively communicate credit recommendations and potential risks to Loan Officers and Bank Management
- Manage a high volume of commercial loan activity while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines
- Participate in bank-wide initiatives and contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and credit quality
- Assist with the training and development of junior Credit Analysts
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with lending teams and other internal business partners
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years of commercial credit analysis experience within a banking environment
- Experience analyzing commercial and industrial (C&I) and/or commercial real estate (CRE) lending relationships
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and the relationship between financial statements
- Demonstrated expertise in financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and financial ratio analysis
- Experience underwriting larger and more complex commercial lending transactions
- Proficiency with commercial credit systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the initiative to work independently while collaborating effectively with lending teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
