This is a full‑time role at Capstone Partners, a subsidiary of Huntington National Bank, located in Chicago, Boston, or Dallas. Capstone Partners is one of the largest and most active investment banking firms in the U.S., advising middle‑market companies with a full range of financial services. This position contributes to the Special Situations Investment Banking (SSIB) group, which provides critical financial advisory services for complex situations, including out‑of‑court and Chapter
11 reorganizations. The Analyst or Associate will play a key role in executing diverse special situation transactions and developing client relationships within a growing practice.

What You’ll Actually Do
  • Model Preparation:
    Prepare, analyze, and develop financial models for historical and projected information, including valuations and cash flow projections.
  • Transaction Execution:
    Execute M&A, capital raise, and liability management exercise (LME)/Restructuring transactions, managing day‑to‑day process activities.
  • Document Creation:
    Organize and prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and marketing pitches.
  • Diligence Management:
    Lead the maintenance and execution of counter party diligence activities for various transactions.
  • Client Relationship:
    Build and maintain relationships with clients, prospective clients, and professional advisors, supporting new business development.
The Must‑Haves
  • Background:
    Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience:

    Analyst: 1+ years of investment banking experience, preferably involving special situations/corporate restructuring. Associate: 3+ years of investment banking experience, including at least 2 years of special situation/corporate restructuring experience.
  • Skills:

    Excellent analytical skills and ability to develop and maintain financial models using Excel, strong knowledge and practical experience with special situations, restructuring, and bankruptcy transactions.
  • Bonus: FINRA Series
    79 and 63 licenses (63 where required), experience with Pitchbook and CapIQ, willingness to travel.
