Responsibilities

The Corporate Development Associate plays a critical role in supporting both strategic growth initiatives (Capital Investments, M&A, capital structure, and investor relations) and core financial planning and analysis efforts (forecasting, reporting, and ad hoc strategic finance projects). This role provides high-visibility support to executive leadership, helping to drive data-informed decision-making and execution of high-impact transactions.

Essential Job Results:

  • Lead preparation of financial reporting, presentations and analysis for Management, Board of Directors, banks, auditors, and private equity sponsors.
  • Support preparation of internal monthly business updates, including KPI dashboards, board materials, and variance analyses.
  • Work with business and operational stakeholders to assess drivers of financial performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive insights through data analytics by partnering with business units and leveraging tools such as Excel and BI platforms (Data Rails, Power BI).
  • Supports the identification, valuation, planning, and execution of internal and external business development opportunities and acquisitions.
  • Gathers and evaluates data, including financial and operational information, developing projections and valuation analyses.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of potential acquisitions, financings, and research potential M&A targets.
  • Perform pro forma financial analysis, budgeting/forecasting, business valuations, and assists in the preparation of financial models and other materials to be used in presentations and as support for financing and M&A transactions.
  • Analyze industry trends and provide insights to management and private equity sponsors.
  • Assist in due diligence processes by working closely with sellers and third parties (e.g., tax, legal, accounting).
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning models to guide company-wide decision-making.
Qualifications

Education and/or

Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, with preference given to a specialized degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Minimum of three years of relevant business experience, with preference given to roles in M&A, investment banking, corporate finance, or FP&A.

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling.
  • Advanced financial modeling, acquisitions analyses, and business valuation skills. Adept at building, maintaining, and improving financial models and dashboards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of primary valuation methodologies and return metrics.
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI tools and financial systems (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan, Tableau, Power BI, Datarails) a plus
  • Able to analyze large data sets and distill insights to support decision-making.

  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Clear and concise communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly across departments and to senior leadership.
