Senior Fund Accountant

Responsibilities

• Monthly/quarterly/annual financial close and reporting of the Company and its associated REIT entities
• Record the acquisition and disposition of investment properties
• Prepare quarterly financial statements for Board of Directors and certain lenders
• Assist with annual audits and provide support to external auditors
• Cash management: daily liquidity review; routinely updating cash projections
• Assist Controller with REIT compliance and tax structuring considerations
• Ensure compliance with cash management agreements and loan covenants
• Routinely update internal control process documentation and policies/procedures
• Institute best practices for accounting processes
• Assist Finance department with budgets and projections, as needed
• Coordinate with property accountants and review/record monthly property financials into the general ledger
• Collaborate with various departments within the Company (i.e. Investment Team, Asset Management, Finance, etc.) to facilitate smooth and efficient execution of transactions
• Help drive the success of the Accounting department as the Company continues to grow

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA Preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP codification and financial reporting requirements, specifically consolidation guidance and ASC 805/ASU 2017-01 for asset acquisitions
• Ability to perform technical accounting research and articulate and document such research
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Project and time management skills: must be able to drive a project forward successfully and be quick-thinking
