Senior Tax Director - Private Capital

Overview

Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: DLR) is seeking a Senior Tax Director, Private Capital to lead tax matters for the company’s strategic private capital vehicles, including closed-end and open-end real estate funds and joint ventures with institutional investors. The role oversees tax matters across the fund lifecycle—from formation and capital raising to acquisition, operations, and exit of investments. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in REIT taxation, Subchapter K partnership taxation, and fund structuring, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with acquisitions, finance, legal, asset management, and investor relations.

The role requires strategic oversight and hands-on execution and reports to the VP, Tax, leading a team of direct reports.

• Oversee tax matters across the fund lifecycle for private capital vehicles and joint ventures, including formation, capital raises, acquisitions, operations, and exits.
• Provide strategic tax planning and execution for REIT taxation, Subchapter K partnerships, and fund structuring.
• Collaborate with acquisitions, finance, legal, asset management, and investor relations teams.
• Lead and develop the tax team; manage cross-functional projects and ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.

• Deep technical expertise in REIT taxation, Subchapter K partnership taxation, and fund structuring.
• Experience leading tax matters for real estate private capital funds and joint ventures.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
