The Opportunity:

HKA is seeking a Senior Associate Consultant to join our dynamic and expanding Dallas Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages team. This role involves conducting research, financial modeling, and complex analyses, as well as supporting the preparation of reports for senior team members and Expert Consultants. Engagements focus on a wide variety including Valuation, Insurance Claims, Business Interruption, Lost Profits, Intellectual Property, Investigations, and other dispute-related matters.

This is a hybrid role with a requirement of 3-5 days per week in the Dallas office.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the collation, analysis, and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data.

  • Communicate regularly with client project liaisons to support ongoing engagement needs.

  • Collaborate in the preparation and production of Expert reports.

  • Assist in building and maintaining complex financial and economic models using spreadsheets and databases.

  • Communicate analysis and work product clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

  • Manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously through effective problem-solving, research, creativity, and self-directed work. Asking for help is welcomed and expected when appropriate!

  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment while maintaining the confidentiality of client relationships and work products.

Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant professional experience
    , including experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Analysis and calculation of damages in commercial disputes

    • Insurance claims and loss measurement (e.g., business interruption, lost profits)

    • Forensic accounting and investigations

    • Analysis of delays, disruptions, and cost overruns resulting from unforeseen events

    • Valuation-related work
      , such as business or intangible asset valuations, fair value analyses, or purchase price allocations

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and work streams in a fast-paced, consulting environment.

  • Strong analytical capabilities, including experience working with large datasets and financial models.

    • Experience with
      data analytics tools preferred; familiarity with SQL or database management is a plus but not required.

  • Ability to review, analyze, and summarize financial and non-financial documents for internal use and client-facing deliverables.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analysis clearly and accurately to team members and senior professionals.
