MHW Search has exclusively partnered with an Investment/Development firm with a portfolio of approximately 7,000 apartment units. The company primarily owns and operates Class A communities while also investing in select value-add opportunities. With an active development pipeline spanning Texas and Florida, the firm continues to expand its footprint through a disciplined approach to acquisitions, development, and long-term asset ownership. The firm has also developed over $5 billion historically.

The ideal candidate will bring an established network of institutional investors, Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), family offices, and other private capital sources, along with a proven track record of successfully raising discretionary and deal-specific equity for multifamily investments. This role will partner closely with executive leadership, acquisitions, development, and asset management teams and will be supported by an internal capital markets and investor relations team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead equity capital raising efforts for multifamily acquisitions, developments, and investment vehicles.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with institutional investors, RIAs, family offices, high-net-worth investors, endowments, foundations, and other private capital sources.
  • Structure and negotiate joint venture equity partnerships and preferred equity investments.
  • Source discretionary capital relationships that can support the firm's long-term growth objectives.
  • Drive investor meetings, presentations, due diligence sessions, and investment committee discussions.
  • Partner with executive leadership on capital strategy, fundraising initiatives, and long-term investor engagement.
  • Work closely with acquisitions and development teams to evaluate capital structures and financing alternatives.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of investment memorandums, offering materials, financial models, and investor reporting.
  • Manage all phases of the fundraising process from initial outreach through closing.
  • Negotiate term sheets, letters of intent, partnership agreements, and closing documentation alongside legal counsel.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospective institutional investors and capital partners.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, investor events, and networking functions.
  • Mentor and leverage internal capital markets and investor relations professionals to ensure a best-in-class fundraising process.
Qualifications
  • 10–15+ years of capital markets, institutional fundraising, investment management, or real estate private equity experience.
  • Demonstrated success raising institutional equity for multifamily acquisitions and development projects.
  • Existing relationships with RIAs, family offices, institutional investors, pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, and private wealth platforms.
  • Strong understanding of joint venture equity, preferred equity, structured equity, waterfalls, promotes, and institutional partnership structures.
  • Experience negotiating complex capital transactions from sourcing through closing.
  • Deep knowledge of multifamily investments, development, underwriting, and capital structures.
  • Exceptional relationship management, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across acquisitions, development, asset management, finance, and executive leadership teams.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or graduate degree preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with a multifamily owner/operator, developer, real estate private equity firm, or institutional investment platform.
  • Track record of raising capital for both individual transactions and discretionary investment vehicles.
  • Existing national network of institutional investors and family offices with an active focus on multifamily investments.
  • Experience scaling long‑term capital partnerships that support repeat investments across multiple transactions.
