The Team

The Public Finance Not-For-Profit Health Care team at S&P Global Ratings covers credit analysis for acute care hospitals, health systems, senior living facilities, and human service providers across the United States, with its work informing rating decisions that support transparency in the municipal bond market. Responsibilities

and Impact Core Analytical & Delivery
  • Lead credit analysis for acute care hospitals, health systems, senior living facilities, and human service providers, serving as the primary analyst on assigned credit transactions.
  • Prepare and present well-supported rating recommendations to credit committees, accompanied by clear and thorough written credit reports.
  • Serve as an active voting member of rating committees, contributing to deliberations on rating outcomes and reviewing materials before publication.
  • Monitor developments in the healthcare sector and municipal bond market to maintain accurate and current credit assessments for your assigned portfolio.
Stakeholder & Market Engagement
  • Engage with issuers and participate in investor calls alongside senior analysts, supporting the resolution of client needs across the healthcare credit spectrum.
  • Publish timely and insightful credit reports and contribute to relevant research publications and special projects.
Compensation / Benefits Information

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is USD $90,000 to $115,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. What We're Looking For Required Skills and Experience
  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3+ years of relevant experience in credit analysis, municipal markets, or healthcare sector financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements, accurately interpret data, and apply rating criteria to generate well-supported analytical insights and conclusions.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting analysis clearly to internal committees and external stakeholders.
Preferred or Helpful Experience
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector, including acute care hospitals, health systems, senior living, or human services, or in public finance and municipal bond markets.
  • Experience using S&P Global's analytical products and services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new analytical applications or proprietary software.
  • Experience identifying process improvements and implementing practical solutions within an analytical environment.
Additional Information
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
  • Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
