Investment Banking Associate - Energy

Our client is a well-established investment bank advising middle-market businesses on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and other strategic corporate finance initiatives. The Energy team partners with a diverse client base across multiple industry segments, providing tailored advice on complex transactions in an evolving market.

This role offers the opportunity to join a lean, execution-focused team where Associates are given meaningful responsibility from the outset. You'll work directly alongside senior bankers, contribute to every stage of live transactions, and gain broad exposure across both advisory and financing assignments. The platform is known for developing talent through hands-on experience, close collaboration, and a merit-based approach to career progression.

• Execute financial analysis, valuation work, and detailed financial models.
• Prepare client presentations, marketing materials, information memoranda, and transaction documentation.
• Support the execution of M&A transactions, capital raises, and strategic advisory engagements.
• Perform company, industry, and market research to support client mandates and business development efforts.
• Coordinate due diligence processes and manage transaction timelines alongside internal and external stakeholders.
• Work closely with senior bankers and clients throughout the execution of live deals.
• Review the work of junior team members and provide guidance and mentorship where appropriate.
• Assist with the preparation of pitch materials and contribute to new business opportunities.

• At least two years of investment banking experience with exposure to executed M&A transactions.
• Previous experience covering the Energy sector is preferred.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and corporate finance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills, sound commercial judgement, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• A team-oriented mindset with the confidence to take ownership of work streams and build trusted relationships with colleagues and clients.
