Responsibilities
Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations, including:
- Full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and families.
- One‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals to external resources.
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
- Plan and conduct publicized Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering all military lifecycle events.
- Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication modes, as authorized.
- Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership; participate in supervision sessions and share trends or issues.
- Participate in in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned that align with the intent of this role.
- Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish if required by contract.
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
- Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosure for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- Must hold at least one of the following certifications:
Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
