- Design, develop, and support loss forecasting frameworks, methodologies, and tools for Santander consumer auto portfolios.
- Work across business lines to define and build risk-based analytical datasets, perform data analysis, and deliver analytical solutions that meet strategic initiatives and risk planning activities.
- Support loss forecasting processes by developing forecast methodologies/tools and forecasting gross loss and recoveries, including data extraction, quantitative and predictive analysis, risk identification, and remediation.
- Represent or support the company’s reputation by minimizing compliance and regulatory risk through issue resolution and adherence to company and legal standards.
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, manage policy and standard definition, monitor models, risk/exposure, and compliance with company policies.
- Enhance portfolio management, reporting functionality, and automation of processes through thoughtful risk-based analysis.
- Provide formatting improvements to current reporting processes and prepare/analyze extensive data for managerial reporting, budgeting, planning, audits, and ad‑hoc requests.
- Create and maintain dashboards to report on metrics and results, and perform trend, variance, profiling, and data quality analysis.
- Mines and analyzes data from both internal and external databases to drive optimization and process improvements.
- Facilitate effective communication among business lines and leadership to ensure comprehensive understanding of needs, expectations, and requirements.
- Collaborate with Risk Analytics subject matter experts to identify valuable practices, develop strategies, and implement predictive tools, processes, and templates.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Economics, Management Information Systems, Statistics, or a related quantitative field with 3+ years of experience.
- Preferred Master’s Degree in the same or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Risk Analyst or in Risk Management.
- Advanced knowledge of loss forecasting methodologies, predictive/classification algorithms, modeling, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical packages (e.g., R, Python) and experience developing predictive tools for loss forecasting.
- Advanced knowledge of statistics, machine learning, and/or other quantitative analysis techniques.
- Ability to synthesize information from a variety of data sources into a logical, organized, and concise manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Detail‑oriented with an understanding of overall strategy.
- Demonstrated data analysis, presentation, and development skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees, including senior management.
- Ability to leverage technology to improve and automate business tasks.
- Strong project‑management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and rapid information analysis.
