Basic Function

Conduct routine auditing assignments for the Internal Audit department under direct supervision.

Job Duties
  • Assists with maintaining documentation and testing of internal controls over financial reporting for the Companys Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts
  • Assists team in conducting routine financial and operational risk-based audits and review of internal controls of the Companys operations
  • Maintains documentation of process-related controls, including flowcharts and matrices
  • Performs routine audit fieldwork testing

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

None.

Some completed courses needed for a Bachelors Degree in internal audit, accounting, or finance are required.

Preferred Education Level: Concentration in internal audit, accounting or finance is preferred.

Required Skills

Basic ability to perform routine audit tasks and some financial analysis. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products; entry level understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), finance concepts and procedures. Intermediate reading and writing, ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to perform basic math calculations.

Skills:

Experience with ERP financial software is preferred.

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 20% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment and out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, and tanks, and rotating equipment. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.
