Salary- GS‑7: $43,106.00 – $56,039.00
- GS‑8: $47,738.00 – $62,057.00

Most work is sedentary but requires the ability to move around the office and lift light items. High‑stress periods can occur during crises.
Work EnvironmentStandard office environment with normal safety precautions; may require protective gear for biological contaminants. Incident‑related shifts possible.
Major Duties- Conduct complicated searches on multiple databases and systems to locate data and analyze information.
- Determine significance, validity, and reliability of data and produce written reports for FBI use.
- Handle difficult conversations both telephonically and face‑to‑face with the public.
- Prioritize emergency and non‑emergency communications and notify respondents accordingly.
- Maintain constant communication with the on‑scene point of contact during emergency events.
- Perform crisis intervention with distraught emergency callers until appropriate units arrive.

Professional experience must be at or above the level indicated for GS‑7 or GS‑8 as follows.
GS‑7 (at least 1 year in GS‑6 level equivalence)- Evaluated data significance, validity, and reliability for inclusion in reports.
- Analyzed, evaluated, and disseminated information.
- Communicated orally with customers to gather information for emergencies.
- Maintained contact with internal staff and external entities to obtain, verify, and convey information.
- Evaluated data significance, validity, and reliability for inclusion in detailed reports.
- Analyzed, evaluated, and disseminated information pertaining to emergencies.
- Communicated orally with customers for emergency guidance.
- Collaborated with local, state, and/or federal law enforcement to ensure appropriate response.
- All degrees must be from an accredited college or university.
- GS‑7:
Bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement or one full year of graduate‑level education. - GS‑8:
Education may not substitute for specialized experience. - Foreign education may be accepted if comparable to U.S. accredited institutions.
