Cardiac Cath/EP Lab Registered Nurse - Dallas, TX

Contract position – The Veterans Integrated Services Network 17 (VISN 17) is expanding to meet increased operational surge capacity across seven Texas health systems. This role supports post‑COVID operations to restore clinics to pre‑pandemic levels.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as charge nurse or float nurse for Cath/EP Lab as needed.
  • Manage moderate sedation and monitor patients during procedures.
  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing invasive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures.
  • Initiate cardiac and emergency IV infusions and monitor patients.
  • Cover cardiology procedure clinics and provide patient education.
  • Act as liaison between Cath/EP Lab and acute/ICU settings.
  • Respond to emergency procedures within 30 minutes while on call.
  • Perform crisis intervention and other emergency care, with ACLS competency.
  • Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
  • Texas RN license with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Experience working with complex patient care needs and guiding others.
  • Proficiency in the nursing process and patient safety standards.
  • Experience in cardiac cath/EP laboratory operations.
  • Basic computer skills including keyboarding and use of electronic medical records.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Adaptability and motivation to deliver high‑quality patient care.
  • Judgment and organizational skills for prioritizing tasks.
