Full Time - Shift: Night
The Monitor Technician 2 is responsible for overseeing the continuous monitoring, recording, interpreting, and documenting electrocardiograph tracings of patients (all ages) on telemetry monitors. The role reports arrhythmias to medical or nursing staff and follows the critical escalation path when appropriate.
Essential Functions OfThe Role
- Operate complex cardiac monitoring systems, including ECG rhythm screens, computerized dysrhythmia detection system, and rhythm printers.
- Observe and document ECG monitors according to established guidelines, reporting necessary information such as patient name, room number, cardiac rhythm, dysrhythmia, and life‑threatening situations.
- Maintain and monitor equipment/environment, reporting malfunctions to the maintenance department.
- Set up central station, monitor alarms, troubleshoot false alarms, and correct improper lead placement.
- Assist with rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia detection.
- Label monitor strips to indicate significant events such as defibrillation, electrical‑cardioversion, CPR and code medication administration.
- Record information in patient’s log and maintain accurate, neat accounts of patient’s cardiac monitoring status during episodes of care.
- Identify and record patient rhythm changes and conditions.
- Serve as Monitor Tech Lead in assigned unit/department, directing, coordinating, and overseeing the effective operations of Monitor Tech staff to ensure highest quality patient care, proper competencies, and adherence to policies.
- Perform other duties as requested by leadership, maintaining professional and courteous conduct, ensuring coverage, and communicating unit needs or incidents.
- Complete required competencies annually.
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, conduction system, and strip interpretation.
- Knowledge of telemetry services.
- Ability to oversee personnel effectively and efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Team collaboration across the healthcare delivery team.
- Adaptability to frequent interruptions and workload changes.
- Prioritization, critical decision‑making, and rapid emergency response.
- Professional handling of difficult situations with patients, physicians, or others.

Qualifications- Education:
High School Diploma/GED Equivalent. - Experience:
