We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the healthcare team of a leading hospital chain. You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and support in a fast-paced medical environment. This position requires someone who is committed to enhancing the patient experience while ensuring efficient operations within the facility.
Duties- Record and maintain vital signs, medical histories, allergies, and medication lists.
- Accurately document patient information and report abnormalities to healthcare providers.
- Administer injectable medications following safety protocols.
- Collect and process blood, urine, and electrocardiogram (EKG) tests.
- Assist with medical procedures, including room and equipment setup and disinfection.
- Prepare patients for tests, procedures, and X-rays, and perform basic wound care.
- Perform clerical tasks, including scheduling, data entry, and processing patient orders.
- Maintain effective communication with patients and medical staff.
- Follow aseptic and sterile techniques while handling medical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including exposure to chemical and radiation hazards.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine is preferred.
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures and basic life support certification is advantageous.
- Knowledge of pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) practices is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a healthcare setting preferred; experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.
