IR Technician – Interventional Radiology (15k Sign‑On Bonus)
Baylor Scott & White Health is hiring an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist for the Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) in Downtown Dallas, Texas.
Location:
Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC), Downtown Dallas, Texas
Shift: Full‑time days – 10‑hour shifts, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. On‑call: 7‑8 call shifts per month (including one weekend per month). Sign‑on bonus of $15,000, plus relocation bonus/lump sum as applicable.
Job SummaryThe Interventional Radiology Technologist, under the general supervision of a Radiologist, performs IR procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
Essential Functions of the Role- Perform high‑quality IR procedures according to exam protocol and in a timely manner, maintaining production and quality of imaging procedures.
- Utilize AIDET for patient communication, ensuring correct exam, establishing rapport, and instructing patients/families regarding tests.
- Prepare patients and procedure area by positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, and setting exposure factors.
- Adhere to safety, infection‑control, drug, and radiation policies; use proper sterile techniques for invasive multimodality procedures; maintain hand hygiene.
- Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness, collaborate with engineers and physicists, report issues, and assist in inventory management.
- Screen and screen patients entering the department according to approved policies.
- Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation (requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, consent forms, policies, etc.).
- Maintain medical imaging records in the appropriate system per department policies and standards for timely interpretation.
- Perform high‑quality IR procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Explain procedures and put patients at ease.
- Provide services in compliance with system and regulatory standards.
- Work autonomously with minimal routine oversight.
- Remain calm under stress and resolve issues appropriately.
- Administer first‑aid and use emergency cart.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and reviewing satisfaction scores.
- Maintain current knowledge and continue education across all age groups (newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, geriatric).
- Serve as a preceptor, training new team members.
- Take on call if required.

EducationGraduate of an accredited program.
Experience- Interventional Radiology experience, preferably in a busy lab.
- Neuro and trauma experience preferred.
- BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer.
- ARRT‑R Radiography (required).
- Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
- Within two years of hire, certified in one of the following: ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography (ARRT‑CI), ARRT Interventional Radiography (ARRT‑VI), or ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (ARRT‑CV).
