Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- CMA – Current Medical Assistant Certification upon hire (required)
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (strongly preferred)
- Surgery Specialist Experience (strongly preferred)
- Surgery Scheduling Experience (strongly preferred)
- ACLS or BCLS upon hire (preferred)
- Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood and administer injections
- Basic computer skills using medical management application systems
- Effective communication with staff and patients
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations
- Sound judgment in emergency situations and ability to act promptly
- Positive, customer‑focused attitude toward staff and patients
- Strong work ethic and high level of professionalism
- Deliver care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process
- Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures
- Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider
- Obtain and record vital signs and other patient information
- Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via appropriate routes
- Draw and collect blood samples, prepare specimens, and perform routine tests such as EKG
- Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follow up to ensure completion
- Document patient plan(s) of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record
- Communicate test results and plan of care to patients by phone or mail as directed
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments; maintain equipment and keep exam rooms stocked and orderly
- Escalate non‑routine issues, questions, or concerns to the practice manager or provider(s)
- Ensure safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required
- Provide patient safety and protect patient privacy rights
- Work in the front office as needed and perform other duties as assigned
