Phlebotomy - Phlebotomist II - Healthcare & Research Job Description

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Phlebotomy - Phlebotomist II

Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota
Position type: Full time Contract
Duration: 3 months

As a Phlebotomy - Phlebotomist II you will be responsible for:

• The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
• The PSR II has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skilful, safe and accurate manner.
• Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labelled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.
• Maintains required records and documentation.

Required

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience:

• 1-3 years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range: $21-25.00 per hour.

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
