The instructor will develop and apply advanced MR spectroscopy and imaging techniques to study myocardial metabolism, energetics, and cardiac function in health and disease. The research will focus on hyperpolarized 13C MRS/MRI using metabolically active substrates, integration of metabolic imaging with functional cardiac MRI, studies in preclinical models of cardiovascular disease, and translation of hyperpolarized 13C methodologies to human cardiac imaging.

Quantitative modeling will be used to characterize metabolic fluxes and kinetics and to relate metabolic changes to functional outcomes. The instructor will design, execute, and analyze preclinical and clinical cardiac imaging studies, including the development and optimization of pulse sequences, acquisition strategies, and analysis pipelines for metabolic and functional imaging. Responsibilities also include integrating imaging results with physiological and biochemical measures, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to manuscripts and grant applications, and participating in the training and mentoring of trainees while supporting ongoing translational and clinical research efforts.

Qualification:

Ph.D. in a scientific or engineering field
