Primary Purpose

The Network Flex Special Education Coordinator provides flexible, network-level, targeted support to identified campuses experiencing high caseloads, vacancies, rapid enrollment growth, or compliance risk. This role functions as an ARD facilitator and compliance support partner across multiple campuses to ensure timely ARD processes, continuity of services, and compliance with IDEA and state requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities ARD Facilitation & Case Management Support
  • Provide short-term Special Education coordination and ARD facilitation support across assigned campuses as directed by the Senior Director of Special Populations, Director of Special Education Compliance, or Regional Manager of Special Education.
  • Serve as the ARD facilitator for assigned campuses, ensuring meetings are procedurally compliant, well-documented, and focused on student needs and access to instruction.
  • Facilitate ARD meetings during periods of coordinator vacancies, elevated caseloads, compliance backlogs, or campus transitions to ensure continuity of services.
  • Support campuses in preparing for initial ARDs, annual reviews, amendments, manifestation determination reviews (MDRs), and re-evaluations.
Compliance & Timelines
  • Ensure evaluations, eligibility determinations, ARDs, re-evaluations, and related documentation adhere to all federal, state, and district timelines and procedural requirements.
  • Monitor compliance indicators (e.g., SPP 7, SPP 11, SPP 13) for assigned campuses during periods of support and elevate risks or concerns to network leadership.
  • Support corrective actions related to missed timelines, incomplete documentation, or compliance findings, including follow-up ARDs when necessary.
Documentation & Data Accuracy
  • Collaborate with regional managers, campus coordinators, and case managers to prepare ARD documentation, notices, Prior Written Notices (PWNs), and related records.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation within Frontline eSped and other related systems.
  • Monitor PEIMS data accuracy related to special education settings, services, instructional arrangements, and eligibility to ensure alignment between ARD decisions and reported data.
  • Complete required data reports, trackers, and documentation to support network-level monitoring and decision-making.
IEP Implementation & Service Delivery
  • Monitor IEP implementation and service delivery during periods of flex support to ensure students continue to receive services as written.
  • Collaborate with campus leadership and service providers to address gaps in service delivery and mitigate instructional or compliance risk.
  • Support campuses in planning for staffing coverage, scheduling, and service delivery continuity when vacancies or staffing changes occur.
Coaching & Technical Assistance
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance, and coaching to case managers, and relevant staff related to ARD facilitation, compliance expectations, and best practices.
  • Model effective ARD facilitation practices, parent communication, and documentation standards.
  • Support onboarding and transition of new campus coordinators following periods of flex coverage.
Parent & Stakeholder Communication
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians regarding the special education process, procedural safeguards, and ARD outcomes.
  • Support campuses in responding to parent questions or concerns related to compliance, timelines, or service delivery during periods of flex support.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and family information in accordance with IDEA, FERPA, and district policies.
Collaboration & Professional Development
