The Director of Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASCs) is responsible for providing strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across one or more ambulatory surgery centers. Reporting to the Health System Chief Operating Officer, this role ensures the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care while achieving financial and operational goals. The Director oversees compliance with regulatory standards, optimizes resource utilization, and leads teams to maintain excellence in patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and physician collaboration.
In partnership with executive and clinical leadership, the Director will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategic plans to support ASC growth in overseeing the development of new service lines, partnerships, and facility expansions within the Health System. Additionally, this includes serving as a key operational leader in the planning and activation of the new pediatric campus, a joint venture between Children's Health and UT Southwestern by ensuring alignment of ambulatory surgical operations, governance, and patient care standards across the enterprise.

Required
- Education
:
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing, or related field - Experience
: 5 years in ambulatory surgery or perioperative services;
Progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations with demonstrated experience in managing budgets, staff, and accreditation processes.

:
Master's Degree in business administration, health care administration, public health, nursing, or a related discipline (MBA, MHA, MPH, MSN, or equivalent) - Experience
:
Experience in an academic medical setting - Licenses and Certifications
: RN licensure in the state of Texas (if applicable), or professional certification by the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) or the American College of Medical Practice Executives (CMPE/FACMPE);
Certification in Ambulatory Surgery or Healthcare Management (e.g., CASC, CNOR)

- Work closely with executive leadership to ensure clinical operations align with the mission, vision, and values of UTSW.
- Direct day-to-day operations of one or more ASCs, ensuring efficient patient flow and optimal resource utilization.
- Develop and manage budgets, staffing plans, and capital expenditures.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as case volumes, turnover times, and utilization rates.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and risk management strategies to enhance operational efficiency, patient outcomes, safety, and mitigate operational disruptions.
