Job Summary
Progressive Technology is currently hiring a Hospital Receptionist to manage front-desk operations, patient registration, OPD coordination, and billing desk functions in a day-shift role. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, the ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a calm demeanor under pressure. This is a critical role ensuring smooth functioning of the hospitals outpatient services and maintaining accurate patient records and financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals in a courteous and professional manner.
- Manage the Outpatient Department (OPD) front desk including patient check-ins, registrations, and appointment scheduling.
- Handle billing and cash collection for consultations, diagnostic services, and other outpatient procedures.
- Maintain and update patient records in the hospital management system (HMS) accurately.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, lab technicians, and pharmacy for seamless patient flow.
- Respond promptly to phone inquiries and assist patients with information and directions.
- Verify insurance details and assist patients with claim processing, if applicable.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception and billing areas.
- Prepare daily reports for OPD revenue, appointments, and walk-ins.
- Ensure a high standard of patient service and uphold the hospitals reputation for care and professionalism.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospital administration or medical billing is preferred.
- Proficient in using hospital software systems and MS Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and local language.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong customer service orientation with empathy and patience.
- Basic knowledge of billing, invoicing, and data entry.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a healthcare or hospital setting, specifically in reception or billing desk roles.
- Prior experience with OPD desk or clinic reception will be a strong advantage.
- Day Shift: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- 6 Days Working (Sunday or Weekday off based on hospital schedule)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital procedures.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing patient queues.
