The full-time Zale Lipshy RRT position is specifically for the Neuroscience Service Line and Zale Lipshy float only. Daytime Respiratory Therapy administering respiratory medication and managing respiratory equipment.
Sign-OnSign-on available for night shift. New graduates are not eligible.

- Education:
Associate's Degree (A.A.S.). Graduate of an accredited program in respiratory care. - Licenses and
Certifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license by the Texas Medical Board, Registered by the NBRC;
Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association;
Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) if required to work in the NICU.
- Education:
Bachelor's Degree in respiratory care - Experience:
2 years critical care experience
- Performs technical procedures and operates equipment with a high level of expertise.
- Maintains knowledge of infrequently used equipment and ordered patient therapeutics.
- Administers therapy according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates decision-making skills in patient assessment and care plan design based on desired outcomes of therapy, clinical data, consultation with physicians and patient progress.
- Assesses patient and family's knowledge regarding Cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology, therapeutic procedures, respiratory drug interactions or contraindications, and smoking cessation.
- Adheres to department administrative procedures, including error-free patient charge entry, timely and concise SBAR shift reports, accurate documentation and EMR order management.
- Demonstrates activities aligned with departmental financial objectives in the use of disposable supplies and equipment change-outs.
- Assumes/participates in charge therapist duties when assigned; reports issues to the charge therapist as appropriate.
- Participates in department and town hall meetings (target: 90% attendance).
- Fosters teamwork by treating all staff fairly, facilitating two-way communication, and maintaining a collaborative attitude.
- Adheres to hospital and department attendance policies, including self-scheduling, vacation and holiday rotation policy.
- Maintains supplies and equipment in all areas of the hospital; reports and follows up with Biomedical on equipment in need of repair.
- Participates in Quality Assurance departmental activities and objectives.
- Assists in writing procedures or providing in-services as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
