Function

The Manager, Product plays a strategic role in defining, implementing, & optimizing the Essilor Instruments product portfolio across the U.S. market. This position combines strategic product management, market planning, & sales enablement responsibilities to strengthen Essilor's competitive position & drive sustainable growth.
The role not only ensures technical excellence & training support for the sales organization but also shapes the product strategy, coordinates national communications, & drives the execution of key commercial initiatives in alignment with global business objectives. All strategic directions & initiatives will be discussed & aligned in advance with the Essilor Central Team in France, ensuring full consistency with global strategies & brand positioning.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Define & execute the product strategy within the U.S. territory, ensuring alignment with both local market needs & global strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate regular product communications in the U.S., ensuring cohesive & timely messaging across commercial & marketing teams.
  • Set & manage a yearly calendar & action plan to accelerate sales performance, including promotional initiatives, marketing activities, KOL engagement, & training programs.
  • Lead the product category within the U.S. Internal Product Committee, fostering collaboration between Sales, Marketing, & Training functions to ensure unified strategic direction.
  • Create localized content & materials (training tools, sales assets, & digital content) tailored to the U.S. market.
  • Lead high‑impact product demonstrations with Eye Care Professionals (ECPs), Key Accounts, & at trade shows & congresses.
  • Support the sales force during customer visits to accelerate deal closures & overcome technical objections.
  • Conduct internal training sessions to enhance the sales team's technical & consultative selling capabilities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Essilor-branded instruments, promoting adoption & increased market penetration.
  • Gather & analyze market insights, competitor intelligence, & customer feedback to guide business decisions & refine product positioning.
  • Represent Essilor Instruments at major industry events, maintaining a strong professional presence & reinforcing brand leadership.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the medical devices, optical, or ophthalmic equipment industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional initiatives & conducting technical training sessions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability & willingness to travel frequently across the assigned geography.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in medical devices or the optical industry with strategic & customer‑facing responsibilities.
  • Proven track record of supporting & influencing sales growth through product strategy & market execution.
  • Experience working with Key Accounts & large customer organizations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems & digital sales enablement tools.
