**** Duties/Responsibilities
***** Fabricates orthoses or prosthesis as delegated by the lab supervisor, consistent with department scope of practice.
* Create positive plaster molds, strip negative casts, thermoform plastic, cutout, grind and smooth plastic for orthoses or prostheses.
* Contour, drill, polish metal work for devices and add closures as requested.  Sewing materials as required and assist practitioners on a PRN basis as needed.
* Fit patients with shoes or fabricate shoe lifts
* Track and order materials for inventory and manage equipment
* Cares for and comes in contact with infants, toddlers, preschool, and school age patients
* Interface with all clinical and lab staff regarding application of varied techniques to produce the most technically advanced and functional O&P devices.
* Contribute to the training of residents and students as assigned
* Perform all duties of the production assistant as needed#
** Required Skills/Abilities
*** High school degree or equivalent required.
* Certificate from an ABC recognized O&P school, or a minimum of one year’s applicable technical experience required.
* Must have sufficient knowledge and capability to fabricate all types of orthoses or prostheses as directed by the lab supervisor
* Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and problem solving skills# #
