Radiologic Technologist

Radiologic technologists, also known as radiographers, perform medical exams using X-rays on patients to create images of specific parts of the body. The images are then interpreted by a doctor for diagnosis and monitoring of disease.

The Radiologic Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.

Essential functions of the role include performing high quality radiology procedures, maintaining production and quality of imaging procedures, demonstrating an understanding of radiation dose reference levels, utilizing AIDET when communicating with patients, instructing and communicating with patients and their family regarding the test to be performed, preparing patient and area for procedure, protecting patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques, using proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive procedures, maintaining hand hygiene requirements, performing tasks independently without need for routine oversight, maintaining a calm and helpful attitude, effectively administering first aid and using emergency cart, ensuring customer satisfaction, demonstrating and maintaining current knowledge, continued education and skills appropriate care for the following age groups, serving as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives, and taking call, if required.
