Methodist Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist in Microbiology to perform high-quality diagnostic testing that supports excellent patient care. In this role, you will process and analyze clinical specimens, operate and maintain microbiology analyzers, and validate results in accordance with CLIA/CAP and hospital standards. You will collaborate with physicians and nurses, uphold strict infection control and safety protocols, and participate in quality improvement and staff training.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex microbiology testing on patient specimens following established protocols
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot microbiology analyzers and laboratory equipment
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through quality control and proficiency testing
- Interpret and validate results, recognizing and resolving discrepancies
- Document all work in the LIS and maintain accurate, timely records
- Collaborate with pathologists, nurses, and providers to support clinical decision-making
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission)
- Participate in training, competency assessments, and continual process improvement initiatives
