Vice Chair For Research In Emergency Medicine

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Emergency Medicine is currently recruiting for a faculty member at the Associate Professor level and above to serve as the Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine. The successful applicant should have board certification in Emergency Medicine with experience in translational and/or clinical research. In addition, they should have evidence of extramural funding.

The Vice Chair serves as a leader in advancing the research mission of the Department, with particular focus on enhancing the pipeline of researchers and increasing extramural funding. The individual will report directly to the Department Chair and will serve on the Department Executive Committee. The Vice Chair of Research will be expected to oversee research, career development and mentorship of select faculty, fellows, and promising residents committed to a research career.

Department research priorities include but are not limited to: acute cardiopulmonary and vascular disease diagnosis and treatment, resuscitation, and informatics, with emerging work in implementation science and population health and equitable care delivery.
