American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Special Procedures with 1+ years of IR experience and expertise in neuro (stroke) and trauma (body) cases for a level 1 trauma center.
Requirements- 1 year of IR experience required
- Neuro (stroke) and Trauma (body) experience required
- BLS (AHA Only) certification required
- ARRT (R) certification required
- TX-MRT license required
- Active TX license required if applicable
- Flu shot required with no exemptions granted
- 2 professional references required
- Interventional Radiology Lab setting within a level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke program
- Performs IR procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients for diagnosis of disease and injury
- 4x10 hour AM shifts, Monday-Friday with a rotating day off
- Call required
- Performs high quality IR procedures under general supervision of a Radiologist according to established protocols
- Uses AIDET communication techniques with patients and families to explain procedures and confirm exam accuracy
- Prepares patients and equipment for procedures, including positioning and adjusting immobilization devices
- Adheres to safety, infection-control, and radiation policies, using proper sterile techniques for invasive procedures
- Maintains equipment, work area, and supply inventory, coordinating with engineers and physicists as needed
- Screens individuals for department entry per safety protocols
- Maintains accurate documentation including patient history, consent forms, and imaging records
- Provides care across all age groups from newborn to geriatric
- May serve as a preceptor for new team members
- Scrubs provided
- Candidates must be able to respond to the hospital in under 30 minutes due to trauma and stroke team responsibilities
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
