Responsibilities
  • Initiate and pursue collection efforts to ensure prompt and accurate collection of patient accounts, including processing garnishments and liens
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, team members, and external parties to facilitate financial resolution
  • Build and maintain positive relationships to promote a collaborative environment
  • Take accountability for personal performance and contribute to overall team success
  • Look for opportunities to improve the patient financial experience through efficient and friendly service
  • Demonstrate initiative and engagement to support team objectives and professional growth
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of collection experience (customer service experience also required)
  • Ability to deal tactfully and considerately with patients, staff, and the public
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic math calculation ability
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Additional Skills & Requirements
  • Collection experience preferred but entry-level candidates with customer service background will be considered
  • Experience handling delinquent accounts, garnishments, and liens is a plus
  • Ability to work scheduled hours from 8am to 8pm, Monday through Thursday, with an early finish on Friday, and one week per month with extended hours until 9pm
  • Comfortable working with diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
  • No specific licensure or certifications required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in healthcare billing or patient financial services is advantageous but not mandatory
