Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Psychiatry We are seeking applicants for a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist position for Inpatient Psychiatry at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital at UT Southwestern Medical Center. This position is part of the pharmacy department and functions as the pharmacy expert on the interdisciplinary Inpatient Psychiatry team. The Psychiatry Specialist serves as a leader for the department in their specialty area of practice through organizing and executing appropriate departmental initiatives, assisting with quality initiatives and practice development in psychiatry, and providing education and teaching for pharmacy colleagues, providers, patients, and trainees at all levels of practice.

Day-to-day activities include rounding on the Inpatient Psychiatry service; evaluating, monitoring, and modifying drug therapy to optimize patient outcomes and safety; and precepting pharmacy residents and/or students.

• Education Both PGY1 and PGY2 from an ASHP-accredited residency program PGY1 with 5 years of progressive clinical practice experience Bachelor's Degree of Science degree or PharmD from ACPE accredited school of pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
• Experience 5 years progressive clinical practice experience within specialty with PGY1 from an ASHP-accredited residency program or 8 years progressive clinical practice experience within specialty. Computer skills, data entry experience English (speaking, reading, writing). Good general health and stress coping ability. Moderate physical effort: prolonged standing/walking, occasional lifting/carrying (up to 25 lbs.), reaching, bending, crouching, etc.
• Licenses and Certifications Eligible for licensure by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Upon Hire and Texas license with TSBP within 30 Days and (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire and (ACLS) ADV CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heat Association (AHA), or American Red Cross (ARC) required for only inpatient positions prior to or within 6 months of employment.
