Works under supervision of Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, Pharmacy Technician Manager or Pharmacist Manager. Consistently works independently and effectively. Spend a total of 80% of their staffed hours performing one of the below advanced pharmacy technician concentration areas. Proper management and handling of medications, including investigational and controlled substances. Efficient operation specialty equipment or software necessary in performing job functions. Accurately prepares all sterile admixtures for adults, using proper aseptic technique.
Safely handles all hazardous medications, including chemotherapy. Delivers medications in an efficiently. Compounding, packaging and labeling of sterile and non-sterile products in accordance to USP regulations;
Perform pharmaceutical calculations. Efficient operation of specialty machinery and equipment (e.g. IV compounding system) Special preparations (e.g. CADD delivery device) Proficient with understanding USP compounding standards and TSBP rules. The shift for this role is Monday thru Friday between the hours of 7am - 7pm and every 6th weekend. Travel to regional sites in DFW for coverage as necessary.

High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience4 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, and 2 years in a specialized area
- Licenses and Certifications
(TSBP) REG PHARMACY TECNICIAN Registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) as a Registered Technician or
(PHARM INT) PHARMACY INTERN Registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) as a Pharmacist intern and
STERILE COMPOUNDING (IV) CERT Sterile compounding (IV) certification accredited by ACPE required in Sterile & Hazardous Compounding and Investigational Drug Services only and
(BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required

Performs job responsibilities in accordance with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, performance improvement objectives and environmental/infection control standards.
