Overview

The Craft Recruiter is responsible for assisting in all recruitment efforts of Craft candidates for DPR Family of Companies in our Central, SW, Rocky Mountain States and NW regions as needed. This role will involve close interaction with field operations, hiring managers and support groups to identify hiring needs and provide solutions related to recruitment. The Craft Recruiter executes full life cycle craft recruiting and employment activities, including creating and managing requisitions, assessing job specification criteria, identifying screening questions and skills testing, determining interview approaches, interviewing candidates, gathering and consolidating feedback from interview teams, and negotiating job offers.

The Craft Recruiter must stay current on market trends that impact project staffing. This role focuses on construction, electrical, prefab, modular, manufacturing, driver and warehouse craft roles.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Open and create requisitions in Workday as requested by leadership and/or hiring managers
  • Perform phone and in-person screening of applicants, assess their skill level/fit for roles and route appropriately
  • Execute the full recruitment and hiring process from candidate sourcing, interview coordination, extending offers and assisting with onboarding
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and national resources to help develop a pipeline of craft candidates
  • Schedule interviews and logistics and track and escalate issues as needed
  • Collaborate with Craft Recruiting Manager to develop recruiting strategies
  • Manage multiple requisitions and projects concurrently
  • Build and maintain relationships with active, passive and past candidates and referrals
  • Build strong relationships with project management teams to understand staffing needs and expectations for staffing
  • Work with hiring managers and recruiting teams to execute staffing plans and develop recruiting strategies; ensure a positive candidate experience from sourcing to onboarding
  • Attract quality craft candidates through internet, social media, job boards, cold calling, data mining, networking, employee referrals and events
  • Assist with organizing local and regional networking/hiring events such as job fairs, schools, trade shows, speaking engagements, military events and student career events
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal team members to foster trust and collaboration
  • Create and maintain updated job descriptions, interview guides, and other interview materials for craft candidates
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems to maintain accurate documentation on candidates and interactions
  • Assist with recruiting initiatives as requested

  • Ensure legal compliance within the talent acquisition process and coordinate with Talent Partners and HR
  • Participate in regular and special recruiting projects as needed
  • Process recruiting reports using applicable software/technology
  • Attend weekly and monthly staffing meetings with Operations and Field Leadership
  • Coordinate with Craft Coordinators to enhance the craft candidate and employee experience
  • Willing to travel to job sites and Business Unit offices as needed to support craft recruiting and training initiatives within the region
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of full life cycle construction/electrical craft recruitment experience
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) both written and oral strongly preferred
  • Degree and/or relevant certifications a plus;
    High School Diploma/GED required
  • Ability to recruit and build pipelines for craft positions regionally and nationally; experience posting jobs, sourcing candidates, resume searches, cold calling
  • Experience coordinating, leading and planning job fairs and career events and building relationships with technical schools/programs
  • Willingness to travel as needed throughout the area of responsibility
  • Experience using ATS (Workday) and tracking candidate progress; knowledge of data mining, Boolean searches
  • Ability to influence without authority and be candidate-centric in a shared leadership environment
