Joining our team offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital function within a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer. You will gain unparalleled exposure to complex payroll operations, including union and non-union environments, and working in payroll systems like ADP and UKG Kronos. This role is critical in driving operational excellence and supporting our workforce's stability and satisfaction.
Key Performance Objectives:
* Accurate Payroll Processing:
* Administer all aspects of salaried payroll preparation, including Executive compensation, payment calculation, payroll deductions, and associated reports. Additional assistance with hourly payroll may be assigned as needed.
* Ensure the timely and accurate processing of payrolls using the ADP system.
* Maintain precise records, files, and reports related to all payroll matters, including tax withholding forms, work hours, earnings records, and direct deposit forms.
* Lead the processing of Equity Compensation, specifically Restricted Stock awards.
* Compliance and Auditing:
* Conduct required payroll reviews, internal audits, and balancing functions to ensure compliance with government regulations and SOX.
* Participate in cross-functional project teams for shared services initiatives to enhance compliance and efficiency.
* Employee Support and Problem Resolution:
* Respond promptly to payroll inquiries from employees, addressing potential shortages and over payments.
* Calculate and process manual payroll checks and future payment adjustments as needed.
* Collaborate with HR and Benefits teams to manage employee information, including new hires, transfers, and terminations.
* System and Process Improvement:
* Utilize UKG (Kronos) for timekeeping and balancing.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to increase payroll efficiency and accuracy.
* Provide ad hoc reporting for various departments, including HR, Benefits, Accounting, Tax, and Internal Audit.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing and administration, with a preference for experience with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
It would be a plus if you had:
* Experience with ADP Enterprise payroll and UKG (Kronos) time and attendance systems.
* Familiarity of General Ledger journal entry preparation.
* Experience with Equity compensation, including Restricted Stock.
* FCP or CPP Certification.
* Supervisory experience.
* Compliance experience and SOX knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
* Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality of results.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly with system, employee, and vendor issues.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Quick learner with a knack for analyzing processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
