HR Manager, Recruiter
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for accurately and timely processing employee payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations. This role works closely with HR, Finance, and management to support employee compensation, benefits deductions, and payroll reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Process payroll on a weekly/bi-weekly/semi-monthly basis for hourly and salaried employees.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes.
- Administer payroll-related benefits, garnishments, tax with holdings, and direct deposits.
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports (federal, state, and local).
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, company policies, and labor regulations.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and confidentially.
- Coordinate with HR on benefits enrollment, PTO tracking, and employee status changes.
- Assist with year-end processes, including W-2s, audits, and reporting.
- Maintain payroll documentation and ensure data security and confidentiality.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
- Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, UKG, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
- Experience processing multi-state payroll.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems.
- Experience in industry, if applicable.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Customer-service mindset when supporting employees.
