Position: Senior Manager, Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits and Wellness)

The Senior Manager, Total Rewards will oversee the design, implementation, and management of Guide Stone's total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, and recognition programs. This role will work closely with senior leadership and HR teams to ensure total rewards strategies are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with enterprise goals. The individual will also manage and develop a team of total rewards professionals, ensuring they deliver high-quality service to employees and management.

What

You’ll Do

Total Rewards Strategy & Program Design

Develop and Execute Total Rewards Strategy:

  • Lead the development of total rewards strategies that align with the Guide Stone's business objectives and support a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure that compensation, benefits, and recognition programs are competitive, sustainable, and aligned with best practices, while also being a best‑fit in relation to Guide Stone's unique culture.

Compensation Program Design:

  • Oversee the design and management of compensation structures, including base salary, variable pay, long‑term incentives, and executive compensation.
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking using top compensation surveys (e.g., Mercer, Willis Towers Watson, Radford, Culpepper, etc.) to ensure the enterprise remains competitive and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the design, competitiveness, management, and communication of sales incentive programs in partnership with sales leadership.

Benefits Program Management:

  • Manage the enterprise's health, welfare, and retirement programs, ensuring these benefits align with the needs of employees and meet the enterprise's financial objectives.
  • Evaluate current benefit offerings and identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience through innovative programs like financial wellness, mental health support, and work‑life balance initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits Administration

Market Competitiveness & Job Evaluation:

  • Lead comprehensive job evaluations and conduct market pricing analysis to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
  • Oversee the design and management of salary structures and job architecture frameworks.

Annual Compensation Cycle Management:

  • Manage the end‑to‑end annual compensation review cycle, including merit increases, promotions, and bonus distribution, ensuring that decisions are made fairly and in line with Guide Stone's budget and pay‑for‑performance philosophy.

Benefits & Vendor Management:

  • Manage relationships with benefits vendors ensuring the effective delivery of services.
  • Lead the benefits renewal process to optimize cost‑effectiveness and ensure high‑quality coverage for employees.

Leadership & Team Development

Team Leadership:

  • Ensure that the Total Rewards team is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to provide data‑driven recommendations and effectively support enterprise needs.

Cross‑Functional

Collaboration:

  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and senior leadership to ensure that total rewards programs are aligned with Guide Stone's goals and effectively communicated to employees.
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development teams to ensure that compensation and benefits programs attract and retain top talent.

Employee Communication & Engagement

Program Communication & Training:

  • Develop communication strategies to enhance employees' understanding of total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, and recognition plans. In particular, communicating on a regular cadence, Guide Stone's compensation philosophy to ensure understanding throughout the enterprise.
  • Provide training and tools to managers to ensure they can effectively communicate and administer total rewards programs within their teams.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Master's Degree, preferred.
  • 8‑10 years of experience in compensation analysis, preferably within a Fortune 500 company or a top‑tier consulting firm, highly preferred.
