About Job

The People Services Generalist at Rogers-O'Brien Construction serves as the operational backbone of the People Services team. This role is instrumental in managing both transactional and complex human resource functions, ensuring a seamless employee experience from hire to retirement. As part of the People Services team, the Generalist supports various HR functions including new hire orientation, benefits administration, employee services, and compliance.

Working closely with the People Service Director and other team members, the People Services Generalist plays a critical role in maintaining accurate employee data, supporting HR projects, and improving processes. This position requires a proactive approach to addressing HR needs and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Skills & Qualification
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is critical for data analysis and reporting
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as UKG is essential for maintaining accurate employee records
  • Strong knowledge of benefits administration to effectively manage employee benefits inquiries and processes
  • Experience in onboarding and managing the employee lifecycle enhances the employee experience
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment, with prior construction industry experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary for preparing documents and communications
  • Preferred certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP demonstrate advanced HR expertise
Responsibilities
  • Ensure complete and compliant employee files through regular audits and serve as a primary contact for new hire inquiries
  • Manage benefits administration including processing life event changes, coordinating with insurance carriers, and conducting audits for accuracy
  • Respond to employee HR questions and support performance management processes by tracking evaluations
  • Maintain accurate employee data in systems like UKG and support compliance with internal audits and government reporting
  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvement and streamline HR operations for greater efficiency
  • Support HR projects and initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational effectiveness
  • Ensure adherence to legal compliance and maintain up-to-date HR documentation and recordkeeping
