As a CBRE People Generalist, you’ll be responsible for supporting various human resources initiatives, policies and procedures. You will also provide conflict resolution services and communicate People/HR programs and policies.
This job is part of the People Strategy and Operations function. They are responsible for the design, execution, and monitoring of human resource programs and policies.
About the Role:What You’ll Do:
- Act as primary point of contact for all Sedgwick-related requests and cases.
- Partner with Sedgwick to administer:
- Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations
- Short-Term Disability (STD)
- Long-Term Disability (LTD)
- Paid parental leave
- Personal and military leaves of absence
- Workers’ compensation claims
- Review and coordinate leave and accommodation requests, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
- Advise employees and managers on leave policies, procedures, eligibility requirements, and return-to-work processes.
- Maintain confidential employee records and ensure compliance with HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, and other applicable regulations.
- Oversee HR transactions related to onboarding of new employees, status changes for existing employees, and terminations of employees.
- Pulling together data and reports for peer reviews.
- Coordinating the processing of forms, offer letters, and processing bonuses.
- Prepare reports and data to present to other areas of the business.
- Manage unemployment claim inquiries and background check adjudication requests.
- Communicate company and government rules, regulations, and procedures and the need for compliance with management and employees.
- Stay current on federal and state employment laws.
- Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
- Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. May convince, to reach an agreement.
- Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
- Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
- Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant HR experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation, disability programs, and leave management practices.
- Experience managing Sedgwick cases or working with a third-party leave administrator.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, etc. Power BI preferred.
- Ability to manage sensitive employees matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced operational environment.
- Understanding existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
